GLASS ARTIST
Emerging glass artist Alexi Garneau graduated from the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal’s fine craft program in 2022. He specializes in lampworking to create jewelry, utilitarian objects, and unique pieces. He also explores neon and plasma art through wall-mounted and sculptural works.
His talent earned him his school’s Faire la différence scholarship as well as a scholarship from the Corning Museum of Glass in 2023, allowing him to undertake advanced training with Italian artist Simone Crestani. Now a member of the Espace Verre team and professor of Flame-Working 1, Alexi perceives glass differently: under the effect of heat, this rigid and fragile material becomes viscous, malleable, and moldable for him.
