Josie-Anne Lemieux is a Montreal ceramist whose practice combines traditional know-how and contemporary language. Entirely handmade, her pieces in Quebec earthenware explore the contrasts between the precious and the everyday, romanticism and grunge, archive and kitsch. Thanks to a custom-developed glaze, she reveals the naturally rosy hue of the clay under a luminous white enamel, while gold accents transform this modest material into objects with a bold presence. Inspired by old industrial forms and enriched with scallops, floral motifs, and spontaneous gestures, her creations celebrate the beauty of the ordinary and tell stories where the magical meets the Quebec terroir.
